Vol. 17, No. 26 – Sept 18 – Oct 2, 2024 – Harbor Patrol Blotter

Tuesday 9/3

 10:35am, Harbor Patrol Officers conducting training of new Marine Safety Officers with emergency boat towing.

6:30pm, while on patrol in the truck, contacted by an individual reporting a offroad vehicle operating in the riverbottom. Advised we would investigate.

Wednes 9/4

 5:35am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

2:40pm, received complaint of dogs off leash and playing ruff with a dog on a leash. Officers responded and contacted the RP gathered description; after searching the village and surrounding marina, the culprit(s) were not found.

11:50pm, dispatched to an unconscious person in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist the patient.

Thursday 9/5

 5:30am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

9:45am, received request to investigate a vessel operating erratically in the mid area of the harbor. Officers responded, the vessel was conducting sea trial, testing new shafts and in no need of assistance.

Friday 9/6

 6:03am, once again observed NWS issued Small Craft, raised warning pennant.

11:30am, officers training with rescue swimmer deployment from Rescue B-19 outside the surfzone near the Surfers Knoll Jetty.

3:52pm, dispatched to chest pain in the HarborTown point timeshare. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist the patient with treatment.

Saturday 9/7

 6:33am, again, Small Craft Advisory issued, warning pennant still raised.

10:50pm, dispatched to sick person at Holiday Inn express. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with treatment of the patient.

2:03pm, received request for a tow from the skipper of a disabled electric boat near the patrol dock. Officers boarded the Fireboat and took the vessel en tow. Observed a small electrical fire near the engine, officers donned turnouts, extinguished the fire and the vessel safely towed to the Dreamer Rental dock.

5:58pm, dispatched to heat stroke patient on Island Packers Boat. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with the patient treatment.

Sunday 9/8

 5:12am, dispatched to a sick person in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with patient care and transport prep.

6:23am, NWS issued Small Craft Advisory for strong winds, pennant still up.

11:45am, new Marine Safety Officers receiving training in rescue watercraft operation and rescue swimmer operations from the Fireboat, outside harbor.

3:45pm, received request to contact the skipper of a personal watercraft for speed in restricted area from State Parks Lifeguards. Issued warning to skipper.

Monday 9/9

 6:30am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

2:02pm, received report of a rental electric boat on the rip/rap near Portside. Officers responded, took the disabled vessel en tow to the dreamer rental dock.

Tuesday 9/10

 1:15am, dispatched to a female screaming and throwing rocks at vehicles in the village parking lot. Officers responded with VPD, searched the area but the perpetrator had fled the area into the riverbottom.

Wednes 8/21

 4:15pm, received report of an Ocean Rescue from State Parks. A pink swan peddle boat is in the South Jetty rip current with 2 POB. Officers responded in Fireboat to assist lifeguards swimming the vessel off the South Jetty. A line was passed to lifeguards who attached it to the vessel, patrol towed it back to harbor.

Thursday 8/22

 10:00am, Officers checking out Ventura County Sheriff’s Office dive team conducting training on a submerged vehicle next to the Fish offloading pier.

5:15pm, dispatched to a medical at Anchors Way/Navigator Dr. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with patient care.

7:18pm, receiving reports of the problematic motor vessel at the launch ramp is departing. Officers responded and confirmed the reports.

Friday 8/23

 6:30am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory for winds gusting to 25kts in the Western Portion of SB channel. Officers raised warning pennant.

9:00am, officers attending regional water training at Fifth street with multiple agencies. Rescue swimmers practicing water rescue skills.

4:20pm, received a request for a tow from an electric boat disabled in the Pierpont Basin. Officers responded in Fireboat, towed vessel to rental dock.

10:03pm, dispatched to a fire near the Marina Park promenade. Officers responded in the Fireboat, unable to locate a fire, searched area from water.

Saturday 8/24

 6:30am, observed NWS issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

9:12am, received a request for a radio check on VHF 12 from SUP’er “Larry.”

9:33am, while on patrol in the Fireboat, officers observed the “problem” motor vessel that has frequented the launch ramp, securing w/o permission, outbound.

11:56am, dispatched to an unconscious person on the Portside Promenade. Officers responded with multiple agencies to assist with patient treatment.

Sunday 8/25

 3-4pm, received three dispatches, two medicals and a traffic accident. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to all three and assisted with treatment of patients.

4:01pm, dispatched to an Ocean Rescue, disabled 55ft motor vessel outside the harbor, near the South Jetty. Officers responded in Rescue B19 and Fireboat to assist. RB19 deployed an officer to the disabled vessel to assist with anchor retrieval. The vessel was safely towed to the longdock, TowBoat US took over.

Monday 8/26

 8:00am, observed a vessel working on engine at the launch ramp. Officers offered assistance, but the skipper was going to retrieve the vessel with trailer.

10:00am, officers training new Marine Safety Officers with towing techniques.

6:10pm, received a walk-in request at Patrol Office for medical treatment. Officers assisted and contacted Fire dispatch for medics to assist the patient.

Tuesday 8/27

 10:05am, dispatched to trauma patient, bike accident. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist the patient with treatment and transport prep.

6:55pm, received report of a suspicious person in a skiff dressed in all black, securing to a sailboat in VWM, climbing onboard. Officers responded to investigate, found the reported person, it was a commercial boat bottom cleaner.

Vol. 17, No. 24 – Aug 21 – Sept 3, 2024 – Harbor Patrol Blotter

Thursday 8/8
8:21am, received report of a vehicle running at the launch ramp and no
one around. Officers investigated, found vehicle as reported. Turned it off, secured it, left a note. Presuming owner was excited to go to islands, forgot to turn it off.

4:20pm, dispatched to 32ft sailboat aground at power plant. Officers
responded in Fireboat and Rescue Boat 19. The one POB was assisted off the vessel without injuries and Tow Boat US contacted to salvage the sailboat.

8:45pm, received request to assist Tow Boat US with monitoring the sailboat that went aground so it doesn’t sink as they tow it back to the harbor. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19 to assist with the tow, monitor towed vessel.

Friday 8/9
8:25am, received a call from the skipper of a 90ft sailboat in Santa Barbara anchorage taking heavy hurricane swell, seeking a slip in the harbor.

9:30am, while on patrol in the Truck, observing strong hurricane swell from tropical storms Fabio/Emilia at South Beach and the New Jetty.

4:26pm, officers monitoring small sailboat race in the main channel on the Fireboat. No issues with obstructing navigable channel.

Saturday 8/10
11:45pm, observed an injured sea bird walking on the promenade. Officers captured the bird and contacted rescue volunteers to pick up and care for it.

4:15pm, while on patrol in Rescue Boat 19, observed an inflatable in violation of speed and wake ordinance in the Pierpont Basin. Issued warning to the skipper.

7:10pm, received a call for assistance accessing the marina gate at VIM for a transient boater. Officers were able to open the gate for the mariners.

Sunday 8/11
10:30am, while on patrol in the truck, officers observed an unlicensed unpermitted vendor at Harbor Cove selling fruit. Issued warning and suspended the operation for the day, removing the vendor from the parking lot.

11:45am, new officers training with practicing tying knots and officers
training on replacing polyolefin tow line on Fireboat and on Rescue Boat 19.

6:45pm, receiving multiple reports of a sick or injured sea lion at Harbor
Cove. Officers investigated and found the mammal as reported. Contacted CIMWI.

Monday 8/12
9:43am, dispatched to a fall victim near Marina Park. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist the patient with treatment and transport prep.

3:30pm, received request for a beach wheelchair at Harbor Cove. Officers responded and provided the beach wheelchair for a patron to utilize.

Tuesday 8/13
11:15am, officers transporting Rescue Boat 19 to Derektor boatyard for
haul-out and bottom cleaning. Also inspecting bottom for any damage.

11:50am, received report of a petroleum sheen near VIM A-dock. Officers responded, found a sheen and investigated the area for a source, but were unable to find one. The sheen was unretrievable and beginning to break down.

7/24

 6:52am, observed heavy fog less than a 100 yds visibility activated fog signal.

2:00pm, while manning the operations center, observing Leo Robbins sailing center conducting capsize and man-over-board drills in the Pierpont Basin.

Thurs 7/25

 5:30am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory for strong winds in the western portion of the SB channel later today, officers raised warning pennant.

6:30pm, senior officer training new officers with close quarter maneuvers and docking procedures of Rescue Boat 19 at the patrol dock.

10:03pm, observed suspicious activity near the launch ramp restrooms. Officers removed a few local transients for loitering/camping in the restrooms.

7/26

 9:25am, officers assisting State Parks Lifeguards with junior lifeguard pier swim. Several participants were assisted to the shore with Rescue watercraft.

9:53am, received a request for a temporary slip. Officers assisting with contact info for marinas and Dockmaster for a temporary slip for the skipper.

6:15pm, observing Friday night laser racers start and they are using the #11 navigation buoy as the weather mark. Officers ensured all large vessels in Harbor were in their slips so not to interfere with the race.

9:50pm, received a report of a car racing around VHV parking lot, doing laps. Advised to call VPD, but officers would investigate. Vehicle gone on arrival.

7/27

 10:18am, received a report of an injured bird in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded, found a sparrow tangled in barbwire. Responders were able to untangle the small bird and after a short rest the victim flew away.

1:33pm, received report of a disabled personal watercraft adrift near State Parks Lifeguard HQ. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19, but unable to locate it.

7:32pm, dispatched to an Ocean Rescue, electric foilboarder in distress near Marina Park. Officers responded in Fireboat and assisted State Parks with call.

7/28

 10:30am, while on patrol observed VFD/AMR at Surfers Knoll for a medical. After investigation, CAD system failed to attach Harbor Patrol to the call. They are working on the error and will advise when it is corrected.

6:30pm, received report of kids unsupervised on VHV C-dock. Officers investigated and found two kids waiting for parents to return to their boat.

7/29

 8:01am, received request to transport two Army Corp of Engineers aboard the Fireboat to survey the breakwall for damage or unchinkered from winter storms.

10:00am, underway on the Fireboat officers retrieved Army Corp of Engineers from breakwall, no damage or unchinkering of rocks observed.

10:31pm, dispatched to a fall in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist the patient with treatment and transport prep

7/30

 7:20pm, while on patrol in Fireboat, observed 2 hoopnets and one prohibited trap illegally placed in the Harbor Entrance. The nets were confiscated. Later the owner contacted on VHF 12 and was issued warnings for the violations.

9:20pm, found a vehicle with lights on and running on Spinnaker near Surfers Knoll. Officers searched the beach, found the owner who was dumpfounded.

Vol. 17, No. 22 – July 24 – Aug 6, 2024 – Harbor Patrol Blotter

Wednes 7/3 3:31am, monitoring sailing vessel “Obsession” broadcasting his position via VHF 16 due to dead calm winds, disabled engine and heavy “pea-soup” fog.

12:20pm, observed State Parks lifeguards conducting a multiple rescue of swimmers caught in a rip current at South Beach while aboard Rescue Boat 19.

6:20pm, received complaint from a skipper aboard a motor vessel that several sailboats are tacking back and forth near the #2 buoy in limited visibility from the fog. Advised the sailboats were participating in “Wet-Wednesday” race.
Thursday 7/4 5:30am, observed NWS issued a Small Craft Advisory for strong winds later.

9:31am, observed State Parks Lifeguards preparing for a holiday with doubled up lifeguard trucks and towers. Officers on patrol in vessels and vehicles to assist where necessary with preventative lifeguarding, rescues and medicals.

3:15pm, received request for a tow from the skipper of an electric boat secured on VHV I-dock. Officers responded in Fireboat, towed the vessel to rental dock.

7:45pm, received report of fireworks on VWM D-dock, vessel “No Drama.” Officers responded in the truck, contacted and issued warnings for the violation.

8-12am, officers observing and receiving reports of fireworks throughout the Harbor area, attempting to issue warnings for the violation, slow down violations

10:32pm, dispatched to a medical at local hotel, individual ingested too many THC gummies. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist the patient.
Friday 7/5 7:22am, observed fog with ¼ of a mile visibility, activated fog signal.

9-12pm, officers providing support for the State Parks Lifeguard junior guard swim around the pier aboard the Rescue Watercraft and the Fireboat.

10:00pm, contacting a group of juveniles gathered in the Surfers Knoll parking lot. Advised officers were closing the lot and beach fires are illegal.
Saturday 7/6 4:07am, received a report of a motor vessel in VYC taking on water. Officers responded in Rescue Boat 19 and were able to dewater the vessel.

8:48am, dispatched to a medical on the commercial vessel Island Spirit. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to treat and assess the patient.

9:48am, dispatched to an overdose in the 1449 Spinnaker parking lot. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to treat and assess the patient.

11:20am, observed a small boat improperly anchored in the sandtrap. Officers on patrol on Rescue Watercraft educated the skipper with proper technique.

5:29pm, dispatched to a fall at 1449 Spinnaker dr. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with assessment and treatment.
Sunday 7/7 8-3pm, patrol officers conducting training of newly hired Marine Safety Officers. Training including deck hand skills, towing and patrol operations.

5:00pm, dispatched to a still alarm, traffic accident on Spinnaker Dr, near Surfers Knoll. Officers assisted victims, no injuries were sustained by victims.

7:00pm, observed thick heavy fog, ¼ mile visibility. Activated fog signal.
Monday 7/8 11:50am, observed TowBoat US towing a panga from County Line with considerable water intrusion. Officers assisted with dewatering and trailering.

Wednesday 6/12

 1:45pm, dispatched to a boat fire in the Ventura Boatyard. Officers responded in the Fireboat, fortunately it was a false alarm, cancelled en route.

6:28pm, dispatched to a fall victim in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with VFD / AMR to assist the patient with treatment & assessment.

9:23pm, dispatched to a possible pier jumper at Ventura Pier. Officers responded in Fireboat but the subject was apprehended by police at end of pier.

Thursday 6/13

 10:00am, Ventura City and Ventura County firefighters utilizing Ventura Port District facilities for Water Rescue watercraft training. Officers participating.

4:15pm, received report of a dog locked in a vehicle at launch ramp. Officers responded, found the vehicle, the dog was inside but the owner was also inside.

5:09pm, dispatched to Ocean Rescue, surfer in distress at South Jetty. Officers responded in Fireboat to assist State Parks. Patient was safely brought to shore.

7:13pm, received a call from a disabled electric boat in the keys by big beach. Officers responding in Fireboat to assist. Towed vessel to their dock in the keys.

Friday 6/14

 6:15am, observed NWS issued a Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

12:35pm, received report of a child locked in a vehicle in the village. Officers responded and found Ventura PD on scene, they were handling the call.

Saturday 6/15

 6:15am, observed NWS issued Gale Warning, raised warning pennants.

6:42am, received request for water quality results. Looked up testing on Ventura County website. Only Rincon and La Conchita tested below threshold.

9:30am, while on patrol in Rescue Boat 19, observed individuals bowriding on a small vessel in the South Basin of Harbor, issued warning to the skipper.

1:15pm, received report of a dog locked in a vehicle in the village. Officers investigated, found the vehicle with windows down and dog not in distress.

Sunday 6/16

 6:19am, observed weather service issued a Gale Warning, raised pennants.

10:35am, dispatched to a water rescue at the South Jetty, 4 swimmers caught in a rip current. Officers responded in Fireboat and Rescue Watercraft to assist victims. The RWC was able to pull three of the victims onto the ski and sled and transport them safely to the beach. 4th victim climbed out of the water onto the jetty. VFD / State Parks, were able to assess patients on the beach.

7:13pm, received report of a fuel sheen near VWM B-dock. Officers responded in Rescue Boat19 to investigate. Upon arriving on scene, a rainbow sheen was found in the area report, it was breaking up, unretrievable. No source found.

Monday 6/17

 6:20am, once again, NWS issued Gale warning for NW winds gusting to 35kts in the Western Portion of the Santa Barbara Channel. Pennants raised.

7:45pm, dispatched to an Ocean Rescue, surfer in distress in front of State Parks HQ. Officers responded in Fireboat to assist, victim made it to shore safely.

Tuesday 6/18

 6:05am, finally, NWS took down Wind Advisories for calmer conditions.

5:30pm, while on patrol, observed a broken water pipe near the entrance to the Port District parking lot. Officers were able to find the turn off valve, closing it.

Vol. 17, No. 19 – June 12 – June 25, 2024 – Harbor Patrol Blotter

Monday 5/27 7:35am, while on patrol in truck, observed a transient in a parking stall under a tarp at the Launch Ramp.  Checked the wellness, advised not safe area to camp.

12:34pm, observed a small vessel in violation of speed/wake ordinance.  Officers stopped the inflatable, issued warning, conducted a safety inspection.

6:32pm, received report of a sailboat in distress in the sandtrap.  Officers responded in the Fireboat, found the vessel not in distress, escorted back to L/R.
Tuesday 5/28 5:30am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

6:50am, while on patrol in vehicle, officers removed barricades and caution tape that blocked a smoldering bon fire from last night at Surfer Knoll area.

5:27pm, dispatched to abdominal pain in the Holiday Inn express parking lot.  Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist the patient.

6:18pm, dispatched to an unconscious person in a vehicle at 1583 Spinnaker Dr.  Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist the patient.
Wednes 5/29 3:19am, received request for a jumpstart, officers were able to start the vehicle.

5:30am, observed NWS issued Small Craft Advisory, raised warning pennant.

7:23pm, dispatched to a traffic collision at Schooner and Harbor.  Officers responded with VFD/VPD and staged because the involved parties were fighting.  After PD stopped the fight, patrol was cancelled no injuries.
Thursday 5/30 7:50am, while performing maintenance on Rescue Boat 19, the port shaft seal tore open, the vessel was towed to Ventura Boatyard for emergency haul-out.

11:33pm, contacted a transient at the launch ramp restrooms complaining of illness.  The individual eventually refused treatment, moved along.
Friday 5/31 1:54pm, officers working with US coast guard on a 24ft motor vessel with multiple issues and suspicious activity.  Eventually the vessel returned to its slip.

8:47pm, dispatched to a hazardous condition in the Ventura Marina Community.  Officers responded with VFD to an exposure of pepper spray.  Apparently a cat entered the residence and the owner pepper sprayed the intruder.

Vol. 17, No. 18 – May 29 – June 11, 2024 – Harbor Patrol Blotter

Tuesday, 5/14
12:26pm – Briefing with Fish & Wildlife officers regarding their vessel at the
patrol dock. The vessel is taking on water, working to mitigate the source.

Wednesday, 5/15
3:27pm – Officers checking in on Rescue Boat 19 at the Ventura Boatyard. The
vessel was taken out of service because of a strong odor of gasoline in the bilges.
A new gas tank was recently put in and mechanics were inspecting the work.

Thursday, 5/16
4:00pm- Dispatched to an Ocean Rescue, a kite surfer in distress at Surfers point.
Officers responded in the Fireboat to the call. Once on scene, officers assisted
two State Parks Lifeguards with transporting the victim to the shore.

4:55pm – Picked up Rescue Boat 19 at the boatyard. While conducting a sea trial
the engines stalled. Officers responded in the Fireboat to tow the vessel at the
Harbor Entrance, but the problem was corrected, and the vessel continued.

9:00pm – City and Ventura Pure Water construction will do major work at the
intersection of Schooner/Anchors Way to repair a broken water main.

11:55pm – While on patrol in the truck, observed a 15ft broken pier pilling that
was erected near the shore at Harbor Cove. Officers removed the hazard.

Friday, 5/17
8:00am – Observed a brown Suburban that normally parks in Surfers Knoll and is
the cause of daily complaints, driving erratically and dangerously on Spinnaker
Drive. Officers relayed information to Ventura PD dispatch.

2:58pm – Dispatched to an assault at Anchors Way/Schooner intersection.
Officers responded with VPD, patient refused assistance, VPD took over call.

5:26pm – Dispatched to chest pain in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers
responded with VFD/AMR to assist the patient with assessment.

Saturday, 5/18
7:46am – Dispatched to difficulty breathing at the Harbortown timeshare.
Officers responded on foot to the room. Treatment was provided to the patient.

8:33am – Officers creating temporary launch ramp parking permits for the United
States coast guard auxiliary to hand out to skippers willing to let them conduct
an informational safety inspection of their vessel before they depart.

9:52am – Dispatched to cardiac arrest initially in the water near VWM. Officers
responded in the truck and Fireboat. After arriving on scene, the victim had
fallen off their boat last night, and unfortunately resuscitation was not possible.

1:51pm – Observed a “boat club” vessel speeding/waking in the main channel of
the harbor. Contacted via VHF16, gained compliance for the violation.

2:05pm – Received request for a tow from a disabled motor vessel near the #4
buoy outside the harbor. Officers responded in Rescue B19, passed tow line and
towed the vessel into the harbor, where TowBoat US took over in a side-tie.

Sunday, 5/19
8:10am – Received request to open gate at end of Spinnaker for canoe club.

1:21pm -Dispatched to an unconscious person in the Ventura Marina
Community. Officers responded with VFD/AMR to assist with the patient.

Monday, 5/20
7:00am – Contracted company conducting sand removal at Harbor Cove after
Coastal Commission permit approved for the work.

Vol. 17, No. 17 – May 15 – May 28, 2024 – Harbor Patrol Blotter

Wednesday 4/24 6:50am, officers assisting Ventura PD with cleanup and removal of transient items: tents/popups/everything-under-the-sun in the Arundo near Surfers Knoll. 
Thursday 4/25 9:50am, observed a section of dock adrift near the breakwall. Determined it came from the dock renovation at Ventura Yacht Club, workers retrieved it.

3:30pm, received report of Island Packers vessel “Island Adventure” inbound disabled with one engine. Officers aboard Fireboat 1 provided escort to slip.    
Friday 4/26 5:30am, observed Gale Warning issued by NWS, raised warning pennants.

11:00am, officers on patrol assisted CIMWI with capturing an injured pelican near the Santa Clara Rivermouth.  The bird was taken to be rehabilitated.

1:20pm, received a severe weather warning call from NWS.  They advised Gale force winds near the Harbor Entrance of gusts at 45 knots, wind waves 8 feet.

2:00pm, officers giving a presentation of Patrol Vessels and Vehicle to a large group of children from the Boys and Girls club.
Saturday 4/27 1:25am, dispatched to a fall patient at Ventura Marina Community.  Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with the patient.

6:40am, observed NWS issued a Gale Warning, raised warning pennants.

12:25pm, received a report of a man with a gun by the Harbor Mart in the Portside complex.  Officers contacted VPD and advised, they were UTL.

Wednes 4/10

 3:16pm, received request for information about the research vessel “Danny C” working on pipelines near the Patrol Dock. Officers advised they were diving on pipelines running from Marina Park to the Port District parking lot.

Thursday 4/11

 2:30pm, while on patrol in the Fireboat, officers checking on a commercial vessel taking on water in the past during rain events. No issues found.

Friday 4/12

 11:01am, officers aboard Fireboat conducting traffic control for Manson Construction removing equipment from the main channel.

11:33am, received report of a small vessel near the Ventura Pier with no POB’s. Lifeguards observed someone paddle away from the vessel. Officers responded, found the vessel anchored and the surfer returned during investigation.

Saturday 4/13

 2:50am, received report of a sealion pup on the promenade near the Greek restaurant. Advised to leave alone, officers will monitor, contact CIMWI.

7:15am, investigating sealion pup on promenade, contacted CIMWI (channel islands marine wildlife institute). Representative arrived, officers assisted with capturing and loading the mammal into the rescue crate and vehicle.

Sunday 4/14

 10:15am, patrol officer supervisors training with online video modules.

3:30pm, received report of a capsized sailboat near the Ventura Pier from an individual walking around the Botanical Gardens on hill in Ventura. Officers responded in the Fireboat to investigate. Nothing was found, only a SUP surfer.

9:05pm, received request to search all electric boats operating in Ventura Harbor because the caller believes their iPhone is on one of them. To the callers’ chagrin, advised to call back later in the week to see if the phone is turned in.
Wednes 4/17 3:53pm, while on patrol in the vehicle, officers observed a large tire near the Santa Clara Rivermouth. It was picked up and placed in the roll-out dumpster.
Thursday 4/18 3:42am, dispatched to 1215 Anchors Way for a 79 y/o female with severe pain. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to assist with the patient.

2:45pm, received a request for an annual parking permit for the Launch Ramp. Officers returned from patrol and assisted the individual with issuing a permit.

Friday 4/19

 7:40am, officers in RB19 providing traffic control for Manson construction pulling sand replenishment pipe off the beach and towing to Oceanside harbor.

Saturday 4/20

 9:33am, received report of an overdue 42 ft Beneteau sailboat, officers advised the reporting party to contact US coast guard for such calls.

10:30am, received request from US coast guard to check the slip of the overdue 42ft sailboat. Officers responded in vehicle, checked the slip, no vessel in the slip, contacted US coast guard and they advised the vessel was located at smugglers cove Santa Cruz Island safely anchored and in no distress.

Sunday 4/21

 6:35am, received a request for a tow from a disabled vessel at the harbor entrance. Officers responded, towed the vessel to the launch ramp.

2:20pm, dispatched to Ocean Rescue four swimmers in distress near the South Jetty. Officers responded by land and sea to the call. The officers in the vehicle assisted three swimmers near shoreline, began assessments for aspirated sea water with AMR/VFD. Officers aboard Rescue B19 deployed a rescue swimmer to pull an unconscious victim from the water, later transported to hospital by AMR for further evaluation.

8:30pm, received report that the South Jetty red aid-to-navigation (ATON) light is extinguished. Officers contacted US coast guard and advised of the hazard.

Monday 4/22

 8:40am, officers replacing ATON buoys P, #8, #13 and #14 on station with Fireboat 1 after Manson Construction replenishment dredging completed.

10:45am, received report of vessel accident, commercial FV colliding with the fish offloading pier. Officers responded and are investigating the incident.

1:50pm, dispatched to a K9 swept across the Santa Clara River breech. Officers responded, deployed rescue swimmer, rescued then returned dog to owner.

Tuesday 4/23

 11:42am, dispatched to medical in the Ventura Marina Community. Officers responded with AMR/VFD to the call to assist with 79 y/o female.

4:07pm, dispatched to an ill person near 1431 Spinnaker Dr. Officers responded with VFD Squad 2/AMR to assist with the patient.
